How to locate nearest Aadhaar Enrolment centre online for updating Aadhaar Card

Aadhaar, the 12-digit unique number issued by the UIDAI to every Indian is now a very important document required for a lot of services including for opening a new bank account or buying a SIM or even a property in your city. With your Aadhaar being such an important document, you can't afford to carry a wrong detail in your Aadhaar card. To make it easier for people to change details in Aadhaar, UIDAI has announced that several bank branches, as well as post offices, will act as enrolment and update facility for the Aadhaar. UIDAI announced that there will be over 6,000 bank branches and over 1,800 post offices that will act as Aadhaar enrolment and update facility.

For those unaware, many services in India now require a valid Aadhaar card and without it, you won't be able to file your income tax return as well. You can find a bank or post office serving as Aadhaar enrolment centre by heading to the UIDAI web page - uidai.gov.in. Under 'Aadhaar Online Services' option, hit locate enrolment and update centres. You can search a nearby enrolment centre through three ways State, Pin Code, or Search box.
For state-based search, users can use more filters like district, sub district, and village town city. For pin code search, one can enter the pin code in the search box. In the search box, one can put the name of the centre and the search will throw relevant results.

In case you want to update a detail on your Aadhaar cards like address or mobile number then you can head to Update centre. Tap on Aadhaar Update > Update at Enrolment Centre. This option again lets you search for banks and post offices acting as Aadhaar enrolment and update facility.  

The government has also prescribed certain charges for Aadhaar services like Aadhaar enrolment is free for every Indian. There's also now mandatory biometric update for kids at age 5 and 15 years which is again for free. Any other demographic or biometric update will attract a charge of Rs. 25 where GST charges will be applicable on top. 

On searching enrolment or update centre, the search on UIDAI website shows whether centre serves as a permanent one or a temporary one.
