A new line of Nokia smartphones launched today in India. The Nokia 6 (2018), Nokia 7 Plus, and Nokia 8 Sirocco are a part of Google’s Android One program, and boast design enhancements. In addition to hardware improvements, all smartphones also boast Zeiss optics for their camera.
The trio was first introduced by HMD Global at MWC 2018 earlier this year. With today’s announcement, they will be available in India via online and offline portals. Here’s a look at the pricing and availability of the new smartphones.
Nokia 6 (2018)
The new iteration of the Nokia 6 comes with advanced hardware. With Qualcomm Snapdragon 630 SoC under the hood, the Nokia 6 is an Android One smartphone, running Android 8.0 Oreo out-of-the-box. Other notable features of the smartphone include Bluetooth 5.0, NFC, and support for Nokia OZO audio.
Nokia 6 (2018) Pricing and Availability
The Nokia 6 (2018) will be available in Black Copper, White Iron and Blue Gold color choices. It is priced at Rs 16,999, and will go on sale starting April 6 exclusively via the Nokia Mobile Shop, and select retail outlets including Sangeetha, Poorvika, Big C, Croma and Reliance.
There’s a Rs 2,000 cashback on the Nokia 6 (2018) under the Airtel ‘Mera Pehla Smartphone’ initiative. Airtel customers will also be eligible for an extended free subscription to Airtel TV app until December 31, 2018. Domestic hotel bookings at MakeMyTrip will be at a 25 percent discount. Customers will also be eligible for a complimentary 12-month Accidental Damage Insurance by Servify on opening the Kotak 811 savings account and activating it. The new Nokia 6 will also be available at zero-cost EMI on credit cards and through Bajaj FinServ and Home Credit. ICICI bank will offer a five percent cashback until May 31, 2018.
Nokia 7 Plus
The mid-range smartphone, Nokia 7 pius boasts dual-camera setup, and an 18:9 display as its highlights. The dual 12-megapixel rear sensors get Zeiss optics, with the secondary lens doubling as telephoto lens with 2x optical zoom. One feature that the Nokia 7 Plus re-introduces is the Bothie mode, which allows you to capture from both the front and rear cameras simultaneously.
Nokia 7 Plus Pricing and Availability
The Nokia 7 Plus will be available in Black Copper and White Copper color choices. It is priced at Rs 25,999. The pre-booking starts from April 20 on Amazon India with sales starting from April 30. It will also be made available on Nokia Mobile Shop and select retail outlets. There will be special cashback offers on the Nokia 7 Plus.
Airtel customers will be eligible for a Rs 2,000 cashback on the Nokia 7 Plus. This will be a part of the ‘Mera Pehla Smartphone’ initiative. Subscribers will also get an extended free subscription to the Airtel TV app until December 31, 2018.
25 percent instant discount will be available for domestic hotel booking at MakeMyTrip. Nokia 8 Sirocco
The most expensive among the trio the Nokia 8 sirocco boasts high-end aesthetics. Crafted from a single piece of stainless steel, the Nokia 8 Sirocco features Corning Gorilla Glass 5 at the front as well as the rear. Despite a premium device, it skips the bezel-less display or the famed notch on top. That’s because 95 percent of the surface area is all glass, which also means it is likely to be slightly vulnerable to cracks.
Nokia 8 Sirocco Pricing and Availability
The Nokia 8 Sirocco carries a price tag of Rs 49,999. It will go up for pre-orders starting April 20 on Flipkart. It will go on sale from April 30 online and across Nokia Mobile Shop and select mobile outlets as well.
Airtel customers buying the Nokia 8 Sirocco will be able to avail an additional data benefit of 120GB. Prepaid customers will be eligible for 20GB additional data on each of the first six recharges of Rs 199 or Rs 349, while postpaid customers can avail the additional 20GB per month on the Rs 399 or Rs 499 plan for six months. Airtel customers will also get an extended free subscription to the Airtel TV app until December 31, 2018. If you use ICIC bank cards, you will be eligible for five percent cashback until May 31, 2018.
